Does anyone make aftermarket parts for Lyman GPRs? I am looking for a stiffer mainspring than comes with the rifle. It is noticably weaker than my Pedersoli and I get misfires unless I really grunt when seating the cap. This rifle has already been returned to Lyman once and they supposedly replaced the mainspring then.

thanks,
Ian

Ian, seat the cap by gently lowering the hammer onto it, and then pushing the back of the hammer with your thumb. You may also need to dress the top lip of the nipple with a file or stone.

You might call www.trackofthewolf.com and see if they can help you or know where to go.

Different cap brands fit differently. You might need to buy a new hot shot nipple (CCI #11's will fit this perfectly) or experiment with different brands of caps for a fit on the nipple that came with the rifle.
Walmart has replacement nipples.
