One thing I forgot to mention. My Zouave shoots the best when I shoot about two rounds then wipe the bore, not clean. Then after each loading, I wipe the bore on top of the load. This works great for about 15 shots and then I have to clean. I do this shooting competition and my old 2 band with crappy sights will shoot in a 4" bull at 50yds offhand all day if I do my part. Another thing a lot of shooters do is raise the first blade on the back sight, if you have that type, and after figuring where the rifle is hitting, we drill a very small hole, like the size of a pencil lead in the sight blade. I had to drill mine about 1/8" to the left and just a little above the normal notch. This works as a peep and you can center the front site in the hole. Also most shooters have to replace the front sight with a sight that is 1/4" higher. Shooting rules let you raise the sight if you keep it the same profile. Mike | ||
