I am in the process of trying to work up a hunting load for my .50 T/C Hawken. I have decided to go with a lead conical, which leads to my question. Is there any real difference in accuracy & performance between a hollow base such as the Hornady G.P., or a solid base bullet like the T/C Maxi's?
I have been advised to use bore buttons with solid base bullets, but obviously, they would not be needed with the hollow based bullets.
So, What's the story?
Thank you in advance.

You know the mantra...
"Every rifle is different". That applies here too. My T/C Hawken shoots both well, certainly good enough to kill Whitetail with either product out to 100 yds. with a powder charge in the 80-90 gn. range.
Cheers,
Don
