I have a .50 CVA rifle with scope I need to sight in. I will be using 245 Gr. "PowerBelt" Bullets with 100 Gr. of Pyrodex powder touched off with a 209 primer. Can I sight in at 100 yards, or will it be to high at 50 ? Should I go for 75 yards ? Only thing I will be hunting is Whitetail Deer. Thanks for any help. Mauser K98

I recommend sighting it in at 50yrds then shoot it at 25yrds, 50yrds, 75yrds and 100yrds. Write down the point of impact on a card and keep it in your pocket. If you have a Williams front sight with a bead you can use a paper plate with a 1.5" florescent orange dot in the center. at 100yrds I can see a little white around my front sight. I can get 3" or less groups off a rest using this method. And if you can keep all the bullets within a paper plate you should have no problem harvesting a deer. Good luck Swede44mag
