Shot friends Encore today. Shot two pyrodex 50 gr pellets with 180gr Sierra sport masters, 200gr hornady xpt, (all 44 cal) and even shot 230gr rem golden sabers that I had from loading 45APC. Could not get a good group at all. About 6in. at 100 yards. Even tryed two different scopes. Burris 3x9 Fullfield II, and a Luepold X8. Dont know much about black powder guns, need help!!!!

300gr Barnes over 100gr Pyrodex, garuntee 1" or better! Mine does not like them light bullets either. It shot well with 295HP Powerbelts as well. Good shooting! [Big Grin]

I'll have to agree with hunting1's recommendation on the 100 grs. of Pyrodex and 295 gr Powerbelts. I am not getting 1" groups with my Encore but I have gotten several in the 1 3/4" range at 100 yards. My Encore seems to like the powerbelts better than sabots. The 300 gr T/C xtp's are grouping at about 3" with the same load. Let us know how your gun gets to shooting. I am still experimenting with loads for mine. Good luck.

I have real good luck with 3 pellets(150gr) behind
a Barnes 250 gr. MZ sabot. under a inch @ 100
and under 3 @ 200yds. 4" high @100 hits 4.5 low
at 200 .
