Has any tried the Precision Rifle "dead center" Bullets? I have a TC Omega in .45 and was interested if anyone had tried these bullets in the same or similar gun?

I have not tried them myself, but a lot of BP shooters consider them the best choice of all for fast-twist barrels!!

Yes, they are outstanding. I've tried them in a dozen different muzzleloaders, and the 220 grain Dead Centers do well in anything with a 1:28 twist barrel. Shot them in a .45 caliber Encore, which is the same barrel as your Omega.

Cecil Epp is amazingly good at selecting the best bullet for YOUR gun and hunting / shooting conditions, and the only muzzleloading bullet manufacturer (that I know of) that will do it, and do it right.

If you e-mail Cecil at sales@prbullet.com, tell him what your specific rifle / game animal / shooting distances are-- he will delect the optimum bullet for YOU and YOUR gun and YOUR needs. Tell him "Randy says hello."

As for groups-- 100 gr. Triple 7 and 220 grain Dead Centers have gotten me sub-1" at 100 yards via two Austin & Halleck 420s and an Encore with two different barrels. And, I am not a good shot! Not done with my Chrono work-- expect around 1900 fps, depending on your gun.

Randy,
Thanks again, I will contact Cecil and get his recommendations. I would be quite satisfied if I can get even 1.5' groups at 100, considering the variability of actual powder charge, bullet seating pressure and barrel fouling.
