...for me. I bagged a doe on the last morning of muzzleloader season here in NJ (2/9). I used a TC Encore 209x45 with iron sights that I purchased in 2002, but never sighted in until last October. Projectile was a 225 grain Powerbelt Aerotip over two 50 grain pyrodex pellets. She was walking broadside about 25 paces away and took off after the shot. As she ran away I could see blood on her opposite side from where I hit her, and after a few bounds she was out of sight. Since I was hunting in the woods by my house, I sat in my stand for about 10 minutes, then got down and went in the house to wait for a little longer in case she laid down but was not down for the count. After about 20 minutes more I went out to look, and I could tell from the bright blood that I found that she was hit in the lung or lungs. Following the blood trail was pretty easy, but as it had hust began to snow, I quickened my step. She made it off my property, but not far, and after making a left turn, I could see her on the gound not far up an old tractor road. Just to make sure she was not going to get up and run, I watched for a bit and did not see any rise and fall of the chest. And that was that. After a drag back to my property, she was field dressed and taken to a check in station/butcher. And in about a week, I'll have some venison in the larder...Wink
