It works well enough to allow me to hunt tree rats out to about 50 yds(my eyes are pretty lousy) and I only paid $100 for it with some accesories at a gun show. By the by,remember that a Canuck buck is only 73% of an American one. Look around a bit at the used stuff. You have enough experience to determine good from piss poor! derf
