I have a .50-cal Traditions Hawken-style rifle that only likes one particular conical bullet -- the 300-grain CVA Deerslayer (Buckslayer). The bullet is an all lead, short, hollow-based projectile that holds a good group up to 100 yards with 100 grains of Triple 7.
Has anyone on the forum have any experience with this bullet on game? My son will be hunting with it on Saturday on our opening day of Black Powder Season.
