Opinions / experiences? Has anyone used one extensively with BP, Pyrodex, or Triple 7?

I bough one when they first came out, couldn't get any load ( smokeless powder) I tried to shoot the way I wanted it too
(tiny groups)but tried it with cleanshot,100grs,xtp 240 mag bullets and it would shoot one hole groups at 100 yds, sold it because it wouldn't shoot the smokeless powder to my likein, fellow that bought it shoots only the same load and says it still shoots one hole groups.
Really liked the rifle though, might get another one, waiting to see if they come out with one in 45 cal.

The "well" in which the breechplug sits is deep into the action. Did you get any blowback at all with any load?

I never really got any groups if I got 2 on paper the third one was not even hitting the target board.shot bullets from 180 to 250 grs.thinking back I don't think I ghot any groups less than 3or4 inches.I think there was something wrong with the gun,it had a tight spot about 1/3 of the way down the barrel, don't know if that was the problem or not but it didn't affect the cleanshot loads.
I know other guys that have the rifles and they are well pleased with them, one guy said he took 2 deer this past year at over 280 yds, said his was dropping 12 inches at 284 yds.??Two other guys said theirs shot good right out of the box.

Was you using 44 Cal or 45 Cal bullets. The one I have shots great if you use 452 Dia or 458 Dia bullets in it. The 44 Cal bullets will not shot well and Savage tell you now to use only 45 Cal bullets in it. I shot 46.5gr of N110 with a Knight 458 Sabit and a 300gr Barnes 45/70 SSP bullet I get 2483fps and 1/2 group at 100yds. I have one of the new M10 II and it is one of the best guns make.

I only used the 452 bullets because of the chance of blow by.I was in no way knocking the rifle I think it is one of the best made too, like I said I think there was something wrong with it because it shot the black powder subs so good and the smokless so bad.
