Couple of probably really dumb questions:

Can a smokeless-powder rifle barrel be made from a blackpowder barrel? That is, are the metals any different?

What is the bore of a black-powder barrel which is labeled “45â€. In a smokeless powder barrel the bore called 45 caliber is 0.451-0.452 inches.

they have pretty much standardized on .450" X .458"

BE CAREFUL!!!

Lots of BP barrels are made from low strength steel which is not suitable for a high pressure smokeless load.
