Got a new Contender G2 45x209 with 24" barrel and took it out to the range. I was surprised by the accuracy, one ragged hole at 50 yds. I was even more surprised by the velocities, only 1750 avg with 150 grains Pyrodex P and 1530 avg with 100 grains. I was shooting 200 grain Hornady SST sabots, 195 grain powerbelts ran about 100 fps slower. According to T/C, I should have gotten around 2400 fps with 150 grains. Does anyone here shoot a 45, especially a Contender? What do you get for velocities?
