cwilsonExperience with NEF muzzleloaders?
Does anyone have experience with New England Firearms muzzleloaders? I am interested in an "inline" gun to hunt in Pennylvania's early muzzleloader season. (The late, after Christmas, season is flintlock only.)
Are these guns a good value? Do the short barrels limit effective powder charges.
What recommendations do you have for a muzzleloader?
Thanks,
cwilson

Dave JamesI have one, they are not a bad entry level rifle, and if your not going to go full bore over black powder its a good one, the only two things I have against it are the colaspable ramrod and the issue with useing high mounts for the scope due to the hammer , have used 777, pyrodex, and black in mine and they all work well

If you can wade through it......

<Dan B>cwilson...I bought one for the same reason...fall PA season. I really like the rifle...handles well and it is very simple. Got mine at Hornick's for $149. A quick sight in at 25 yards shooting by leaning against a post (like a tree in the woods) and I was able to cut holes with it. I don't care much for the plastic sights but will replace those next year with a little 4x scope.
