My friend has a Traditions Lightning and I have a Traditions Evolution both in .50 caliber. We have several makes of bullets, from 250 grains Barnes Muzzleloader solid coppers to 250 grain 44 caliber Nosler Partitions and 300 grain Nosler 44 caliber handgun bullets. Also have 348 grain Powerbelts. We've tried Pyrodex RS but want to try 777. Where does one go to find out load data. My rifle has a 26 inch tube, Tom's has a 24 inch tube and both say they are rated for up to 150 grains of RS. Just for grins and we will both work up, if the rifles are rated for 150 grains of RS, what would be the max load for 777. Thanks for any help. Tom Purdom

7x57 max. load for triple 777 and to be on the safe side I would not go past 100 grain of loose triple 777 powder.I shot triple 777 in my 54 cal. thunderhawk using 120 grains of pyrodex select and a 350 grain sabot,I would only use 75 grains of triple and the recoil is there ,sharp. The link below will help http://www.hodgdon.com/data/tripleseven/50cal-2f.php#top

IIRC loose 777 should be 15% below BP/Pyrodex charges. 120gr for your rifles. I don't think this applies to pellets. A "50gr" 777 pellet should be a direct equivalent to a 50gr pyrodex pellet. You probably won't want to use max charges anyway.

I do believe I would trust the maker of the powder itself for guidance - HODGDON - I don't think you will find loads beyond 100 grains of loose to be pleasant or beneficial.

over a chrono, in TWO double barrel .58s, 777 gives the highest velocity, for weight, and is FAR cleaner. I love 777 jeffe
