What are the differences in the reciever of the the Savage Model 10 family short action, and the "Smokeless Powder Muzzleloader" ?

I ask because I am about to buy a long action in .300 RUM, and have a few other barrels made for "quick change" gun in several calibers, with only one trigger to get used to. I figure if the ML action is the same as the short Mod. 10 action, then I can also have a front-loader barrel for my long action.

Will it work ?

Will a Savage factory ML barrel screw right in to a standard long action ?

If not, could I not get a .50 caliber barrel, made to SMOKELESS powder pressure specs, chamber it straight, with a large diameter, then thread and install a breech plug so that the primer, when installed on the nipple, would have the same headspace as the original cartridge round ?

I'm not a professional, but the only problem I see right now is reaching into the action to seat a primer, and then reaching in again to extract the primer after the shot.

I'll probably be using a Boyds laminated stock, which would be bored for the ramrod. This would leave a hole when the ramrod is not needed, i.e., when a barrel set up for cartridges is installed on the action, but would have the advantage of making the stock lighter.

What am I missing ?

I don't think, by design, that the bolts would interchange, even after changing barrels... as "convicts" can own blackpowder muzzle loaders, and not modern guns, seriously... SO, in effect, someone could buy a ml, swap the barrel, and have an illegal weapon upon assembly of legal parts...
