I put a Keplinger set trigger in mine. It is a joy to shoot. You might want to consider that during your rebuilding. Hope you enjoy the rifle it is a fun one.

Bad Ass, is that conversion a simple rechambering job from .45/70, or is a new barrel needed? Just curious - the .45/70 version has enough recoil for me!!

The 45/120 is custom from the action up. 28" oct barrel, french walnut stock etc. Finished rifle weighs just 11lbs. I've fired this with 85gn (2208 locally available powder)with 500gn Hornady RN for 2380fps. Bloody awesome!

I have just bught a No 1 in 30-06 witch is "well" used. The price was not to bad, considering that a new No.1 costs approx. $1450 in Norway (I paid $570 for it) The stock is quite worn, checkering and finish is in dire need of refinishing. The metal is free from rust, but a litle worn. Since this rifle will be restockt and rebarreld eventualy, this is not a problem. My questions are: Is there any tricks to do with the mechanism in terms of tighting it up. Making it smoother etc. Have any of you guys rechmberd the No. 1 to 500 NE witch is the plan I have for it. Tanks in advance. Happy owner of my first No.1
