I have an old Stevens .22LR single shot with the button type hammer. I don't know how old it is--t belonged to by grandfather. I can't read the model number on it. Because of my eyesight I couldn't see the open sights, so I use some southern ingenuity and added a 4x scope to it. I like to get it out and shoot it once in awhile. I have a Savage MKII that I shoot in informal matches with friends and I use SK Standard Plus (in the gold boxes) in it and it shoots great. I decided to try the good ammo in the old Stevens, and wow, it shoots great. I believe I can be competitive in our informal matches using the Stevens and the SK ammo. I didn't think it would make that much difference in such an old gun, but it does. Red C. Everything I say is fully substantiated by my own opinion. | ||
