I just ordered my first single shot, a Ruger No. 1S in .45-70 and I seem to be having trouble locating a bore guide. Can someone advise me where I can find one? Tried Sinclair, Midway, Creedmore, etc. with no success. Thanks.

A bore guide for cleaning the barrel? I always make one.But you'll be cleaning from the breech anyway so there's not a big problem.Just drill out the head of a 45-70 case...Enjoy your 45-70, it's a great cartridge and does a fine job without making a mganum out of it.Lots of different factory ammo available and of course hand loading options if you reload. Smiler

Thanks mete. That was pretty much my thought on it, I mean the part about not making a magnum out of it. Just waiting on a cleaning rod to arrive (kind of surprised my local gun shops had none for that caliber) so I can try it out. Sure is a pretty rifle.
