Here are a couple of mine.

They make a sweet shooting and carrying rifle.

The top one is 45-70. Bottom is .375 Winchester. Both have Vari x III 1.5-5.

Large photo if you have a slow connection.

Nice looking rifles. I have hunted with a #1A since 1969 and it's a primary rifle of mine.

I notice that the mounts seem to be Weavers. Is this because they are rebarrelled?

I don't have a cartridge carrier like you do and I just carry a couple of rounds in every pocket. A friend has a cartridge carrier on his coat sleeve held by an armband.

Many of the #3's were set up for Weaver bases. The barrels are the originals.

I am thinking I will change them over to Millet rings after the season. Just a little nicer looking.

Many many years ago I had a Ruger #2 in .223rem. Damm nice setup. The pistol grip stock worked and looked great. I just wish the hammer lock time was faster.

Gator,

A #2 is what the #3 should have been in my opinion.

It is a #3 action, with #1 wood.
