With my "Vintage" eyesight, I would like to mount a scope on my new 32-40 C. Sharps Arms 1875 Sharps Rifle.

I don't think I will like the Leatherwood Malcolm 6X historically correct scope.
Has any one mounted a modern scope on their Sharps replica? Or is that heresy?
Thanks in advance for your input.

I saw in a previous thread that you just bought one. These are marvelous rifles. Have you inquired with C. Sharps? They may have a few suggestions.

Personally, I think a modern scope would look like a serious aberration on such a beauty. The vintage scope just looks "right."

Try Montana Vintage Arms and DZ Arms. They both have appropriate scopes.

CalMar
Thanks for the information about MVA.
I have ordered a 10X scope from them. They will ship it directly to C. Sharps.

Might look bad but does it make it user friendly.

After some deliberation, I have decided to go with a modern scope and mounts. I just feel better about it! Pat at C. Sharps says that is no problem!

The Leatherwood scope is "good enough" but it does make me appreciate the modern scope a whole lot!

Sounds like a fine plan. Which scope? FX-II Handgun 4x28mm scopes have an 18" eye relief.

Life itself is a gift. Live it up if you can.
