Ruger is listing some interesting #1s for '09. The 1-S is listed in .338 RCM (26"), .460 S&W (22") and .475 Linebaugh/.480 Ruger (22"), the 1-A in .300 RCM (22") and Tropicals in blue & stainless in the new .416 Ruger. The only one that interests me is the Linebaugh. Damn! Another #1 on my wish list....
I've been fighting the urge to buy a #1 9.3x74 and now with the 460 and 475 being offered I actully need one of those since Indiana has just last year opened rifles with handgun chamberings for deer. I'm not going down to Indiana this year for Whitetale but probably will next year.

I'm still trying to find a place which has any of the 9.3x74s for sale, and NOW I have to start looking for a Linebaugh 1-S too? Darn, life is fun.

This would be fantabulous!! I have a Browning 1885 in .454Casull I purchased because I couldn't find a suitable singleshot--didn't want a lever. I will most likely be looking to trade! Happy Days are soon to be!! I hope Ruger has sense enough to use a faster rate of twist than in their SRH.

Not to be a "negative nate" but to me this is about as goofy of a selection that I've seen. Now granted I'm not a cartridge guru and I dont keep up with the latest or greatest but I don't recognize hardly any of these offerings. I'm assuming the CM's are compact magnums, correct? Every one of these chamberings are pretty expensive to shoot and reload. I'd rather see them get back to the basics, maybe a .222 Varmit model for one or a .260 or .280 in some variation. JMO
Ever since they cam out with the 1V stainless-steel laminated model I've be waiting for them to chamber it in the .223 or even the .222. That would trip my trigger.

I wanted Ruger to chamber the RUM calibers so I asked Bill SR about it . He wasn't interested at all. So I built my own. You can pretty much duplicate the Lapua with the 338-300 RUM and the brass will be a lot cheaper. Herb

Cobrajet, agreed, give me a 221 FB or 222, and a 260...or even 7/08.
Commend them taking some risks, but I wonder how many 250 fans there are out there for instance than 338 RCM, now and 5-10 years from now?
Lipseys is still waiting on 250 savage production.
I was disappointed at the show to see lack of more offerings and regret now selling my RSI 243....now discontinued. If it were replaced with a 250, I'd buy one!
