Has anyone had experience with CVA rifles, particularly their Apex line?

They look good on paper but I wonder what MOA they'd shoot in 300 WM or 35 Whelan.

I haven't tried one but it looks sort of interesting. I thought it might be too light for the calibers you mentioned but after looking at the specs, I can't say that.

Have you tried one yet?

I'd like to give one a go.

If you get one, keep us posted.

I wonder if it's any better than the Knight.
They were +7.5 lbs in rifle calibers with a plastic stock.

Good question. The Knight was also pretty cheap, wasn't it?

Some reviews from Cabelas website are not too complimentary.
Read below:

2 out of 5 Marksman85 Location: Waterloo, IAAge: Under 25Gender: MaleWould you recommend this product to a friend? NoShould have bought a TCDate: October 13, 2010 I first purchased the Apex as a .50 cal muzzleloader, it is a very nice looking gun, easy to clean, and handles nicely. I have had some troubles with accuracy from the muzzleloader. I really started to have problems when i purchased a 7mm-08 barrel for the gun. The first time i tried to slide a cartridge into the the barrel, the bullet extractor would not allow me to get it in there. I called CVA and was asked to send the barrel in so I did. It took 8 weeks to get the barrel back and it still did not work, i was able to get a cartridge in but once it was fired, the expanded cartridge would not pull out. I called CVA back and was handed off to a manager who would "call me right back", never got a call. Called again a few days later, was told i would be sent a shipping label and never recieved it, so i called a third time and was finally assisted in shipping the gun back to CVA. Another 6 weeks later, I finally recieved the gun back in a working condition. The work done of the barrel is evident since the bullet extractor was "resized" (filed-down) and i now have a re-worked barrel that i paid full price for. I have had accuracy issues with this barrel as well. I will never buy another CVA.

Nocheap rifleDate: September 8, 2010 first time i shot this gun out of the box it locked up. it would not breech. this is a cheap gun and i wish had not bought it. complete waste of money. i would not buy this gun, spend the extra money and buy a tc. customer service has been a joke and not much help. still waiting on the paper work from cva so i can ship the gun back in but that was a couple weeks ago. back up your work cva.

My .270 Knight works fine but it's a 3 moa rifle. I'm still fiddling with it.

I have .223 and 300winmag barrels too, not much better.

I was able to get my hands on an Apex today. I am very impressed with the fit, finish and feel in hand. It seemed to balance well when shouldered.
I was unable to check the trigger as the Bass Pro where it was located had the hammer strapped down.
I can see one in my future.
