I have a 97D, and a "Varminteer" pistol from E.A. Brown. They can accomodate about the same class of cartridges as the Contender, however my Brown firearms seem to be easier than the Contender to get to shoot really well. If I were to buy another, I'd be sure to pick a cartridge with a rim. My E.A.B. rifle is a 223 and decidedly warm loads don't extract easily. There exists no such problem with the pistol, which is chambered in 219DW.
