Sorry, can't help much. The only ammo I have shot in my Stainless-Synthetic NEF Handi-Rifle in .243 so far has been Federal 100gr. PSP Factory Loads. However they do shoot quite well, at least I'm pleased with the results. 5 shot 100 yard groups have been running right around 1".

I do plan on testing some handloads, but I am still recovering from surgery and have not been able to as yet. I was/am planning on trying 55gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips with Hodgdon's VARGET. This combination has proven itself in a couple other .243's to date.

Sorry I couldn't be more help. But I really do like my .243 NEF.

I just started using some 85 gr. Barnes Triple shocks in my 6mm and other than the fact that they are way over priced I really like them. They shoot as well as any match bullet in my gun.

If you can get your hands on vihtavuori N160 powder youre in for a treat!
Its the best powder for ,243 that i have tested!

If youre varmiting try the 70gr blitsking, great bullet

And try the sierra 85gr hpbt as Datil suggested!

My .243 is a Ruger heavy barrel and I like the 87 gr. Hornady over IMR 4831. Gives 3/8" @ 100 yds. Accurate and a pleasure to shoot.

I shoot for varminting and target purposes the Hornady 87gr V-Max with really nice performance from almost all the powders listed. I found out that my 243 handi HATES light bullets.

80gr and above have had the best results for me.
