Hello, I am wondering What length's of bbl's in the .44 rem mag, T/C makes. I looked on midway usa and could only find 12" and 15" in the hangun bbl's. I allready have a 10". Do you think this 10" was custom made or did they used to make 10"ers. I had a guy tell me they make the .44's any length from 9" to 26". Thanks for any help, Bkmastr

10" was a very common barrel length in early Contenders. They were ordinarily bull barrels but not always; some were tapered octagon. Some were even vent-ribbed with a screw-in choke with straight fins to take the spin out of shot cups. Those came in 45 and 44 caliber. I still have one of the choke inserts laying around somewhere. They began to fade when the "Super 14"s started to gain popularity.

I believe in the contender, T/C has made 10, 12 and 14" 44 mag barrels, and in the encore 12 and 15". Custom is any length you want, and it isn't much of a chore to cut down a factory 12".
