Hello, I am wondering What length's of bbl's in the .44 rem mag, T/C makes. I looked on midway usa and could only find 12" and 15" in the hangun bbl's. I allready have a 10". Do you think this 10" was custom made or did they used to make 10"ers. I had a guy tell me they make the .44's any length from 9" to 26". Thanks for any help, Bkmastr "It is allways better to keep your mouth shut and have people think you are stupid than to open it and prove them right."

10" was a very common barrel length in early Contenders. They were ordinarily bull barrels but not always; some were tapered octagon. Some were even vent-ribbed with a screw-in choke with straight fins to take the spin out of shot cups. Those came in 45 and 44 caliber. I still have one of the choke inserts laying around somewhere. They began to fade when the "Super 14"s started to gain popularity. "Experience" is the only class you take where the exam comes before the lesson.

I believe in the contender, T/C has made 10, 12 and 14" 44 mag barrels, and in the encore 12 and 15". Custom is any length you want, and it isn't much of a chore to cut down a factory 12". __________________________________________________ The AR series of rounds, ridding the world of 7mm rem mags, one gun at a time.
