There seems to be a lot of Browning 1885 fans on this site, so perhaps one of you can answer a question for me. I have a Low Wall in 22 Hornet that I purchased used. It is in excellent condition and is very accurate. It has a little lever that acts as an extractor, and lately I have been wondering if this gun was actually supposed to have an ejector, which may be broken in my gun. So, my question is this:

Does the Browning 1885 Low Wall have an ejector or merely an extractor? Does the extractor / ejector mechanism vary between the Low Wall and the High Wall, or between the various chamberings?

Go to http://www.brownells.com and compare the schematics for the high wall and low wall. You will see that the high wall has an ejector and a deflecter which the low wall does not have.

Thanks for the reference! The schematics clearly do show that the High Wall has an ejector and the Low Wall has an extractor only.

Browning 1885 High Wall has ejector and the Low Wall a extractor but I have heard the new Winchester Low Wall has a ejector in the rimfire and wsm calibres, does anyone of this? Thanks

I am looking for a low wall, I dont see any on the Winchester web site.

Anyone know, are these offered now or planed for the futures?

Something simple like a 22 hornet?
