Well I thought my #1B 300Win had a heavy trigger pull. So I asked Santa for a Moyers trigger, and got one. Heard it was an inprovement on the factory trigger. Well I installed it the other day, pretty simple to install. I borrowed a friends trigger pull gauge and low and behold the Moyers trigger went off the scale at around 7-8lbs! Thats with it adjusted all the way out. I removed and reinstalled it again thinking I made a mistake, same thing 7-8lbs. I got looking at the replacement spring that comes in the kit, it sure did look and feel a little strong compaired to the factory. I reinstalled the factory spring, but it was to short for the new trigger. Then I used the trigger with no spring and still to heavy. I was going to take it to Moyers, as I only live 30 miles from his house. But for now I reinstalled the factory trigger, and it pulls about 4-4 1/4bls.(opps, i never used the trigger pull gauge before with the factory trigger). I did get the factory trigger adjustment screws loose(didnt take that much), I have heard these screws are only for looks, but I did get some adjustment with reducing the travel a bit, as well as the trigger pull a little bit. Now my trigger is just fine at around 4bls. I just didnt realize that it was just fine. I figured I could get it lower with the Moyers, it just didnt work out for me. I would like the Kipplingers set trigger, but I think I will just leave it alone. Iam not trying to bad mouth the Moyers trigger, just didnt work for me. Any others out there get there Moyers trigger to work? and if so, did it take any modifications?

whiplash,

I never used the moyer trigger, so I can't comment on them. I have two Kipplingers on two #1's. I got tried of paying to have the factory trigger "adjusted".

Kipplingers are initially expensive, but not in the long run. I have mine for 8 yrs., & would not own a #1 with out one. They are that good.

If you can, see if you can shoot a #1 with a Kipplinger, & I'll bet you will not be satisfied until you own one.

I put a Moyer's in my #1 (218 Bee). Had just about the same results as you did, 3 1/2-4lbs was the best I could come up with. No creep and a clean break, however. If I had to do it over again I'd probably go with a Kipplingers, I've fire a couple of rifles that had them. Pretty nice triggers.

I have a Moyer's trigger on my Number 1 in 22 Hornet. I'm sorry I spent the money also. I don't remember what the advertised pull weight is for them, but the best I could get out of it is a 2 3/4 pound pull. I know the ad said you can do much better. Next time, it will be a Kepplinger's for me.
