Gentlemen, I have for weeks been trying to find out how many 6ppc No1's were made by Ruger. Does anyone out there have that information. I picked one up about a year ago and boy does it shot. I have never owned a more accurate rifle than this one. Again any info would be appreciated.

They were listed in the 1993 Ruger catalogue. I have a 22PPC equiped with a 25X lyman scope that also shoots very small groups. Hold still varmint; while I plugs yer! If'n I miss, our band of 45/70 brothers, will fill yer full of lead!

Ruger will not release that kind of Info so the guys on the Ruger # 1 Group have been keeping records by serial number on how many they see, so far after years of looking only 8 in 22 PPC have been found and 10 in 6 PPC. So as you can see it's not an easy one to find. If you guys would like to have your serial numbers listed in the records go to the group and send your numbers to the group moderator, your name will not be used only your number, he usually up dates the records once a week. They are very good shooting guns and so far 22 PPC and the 6 PPC hold the Ruger Bench Rest records. Ruger # 1 Guy

According to J. D. Clayton in his book “Ruger No.1”, the first year that the 6mm PPC shows up in a No. 1 is in 1993. That year it was a non-catalog “Special Production” chambering in the 1-V. It become a cataloged chambering in 1994. Clayton shows it listed through 1996 (which is the last catalog listing in the book). If they chambered No. 1s in this round after 1996 I don’t know. It may or may not have been in the main catalog but it was in the price list in 1993 along with the 22 PPC, and a number of other rounds, including the 404 Jeffrey which they didn't make.

Mick, Check the Ruger # 1 Files section, there are about 4 or 5 factory 404 Jeffrey's listed by serial number, the records say that between 65 and 370 were Mfg, again Ruger will not release the Info on how many were made, but most were Mfg in 1994, I tend to go with the lower number being that so few are listed in the records. Or maybe 100 at most, my thinking is that if 370 were made we should see more of them. Ruger # 1 Guy
