Nope, won't work. Not a chance. Better send it to me and I'll send you back something that will suffice - black plastic, and stainless with a dog leg hangin' off the side

Beautiful. Unless I could have a spare, I don't think I could bring myself to go to Africa with that one. Be sure to post some pics when its done for us to admire.

Plastic and stainless AND a dogleg? Yikes, may the gods of the hunt give me shin splints if I so stumble.

I just can't wait for it to show up here. I have warned Martin that if there is a flaw in the action I will shoot it to pieces and he'll get whats left back in a sack. He tells me the barrel is good for 10,000 rounds of hunting accuracy. That might make it 3 years.

I'll let everyone know how it goes.

I couldn't bring myself to NOT take that one to every place I hunted. I'm sure Josh feels the same. He's every bit as big a knucklehead as I am. Big Grin

Josh, that plastic and stainless dog would be new however. I'd have to go out and buy it as I would never allow something like that in my house.

BTW, what's up with that beautiful red wood? What sort is it and is there any color in the oil?

Brent, its just Turkish walnut. No die or coloring of any kind, that was the natural color of the blank. Here is the blank. I wrote Martin a pretty long and detailed letter about what I wanted in a blank and this is the one he chose for me.

Dave is right, this one is going to get hunted everyday. I am thinking about sending Martin and Ralf a picture of it the day I get it hanging in the gunrack in my jeep.

Dave, how did you know that my wife has been calling me Bwana Knucklehead?

Because, that's the same thing my wife calls me. Well, when she's feeling nice. Though she usually leaves off the "Bwana" part... Confused

Nice axe handle!

I understandd the practical logic of .300win.
Traditionalists would more likely prefer A Hagn in a classic round like 300hh or 9.3x74r. But hell I played with a takedown version in 338win,and in all reality, when you hold arig like that, the chanbering becomes less of an issue.I could have lived with that 338win no problem. I likes em all Big Grin
