I have a T/C Encore SS Pro Hunter w/Flex Tech stock in 300 Win Mag; w/factory standard 28" fluted barrel. Overall, an attactive, accurate (very), light, easy to carry rifle; I'm a Happy Camper. Put it through it's paces over the screens for the first time; 10 rounds in the morning and another 10 in the afternoon. With a load consisting of 150 gr. Hornady GMX, XX.X grs. VVN-160, Federal 215 primer, FC-nickeled brass and using a Lee FCD I got an average of 3449 fps (call if 3450 fps) for 20 rounds. We chronographed several other rifles during the day, 25-06 Rem, 257 Weatherby, 270 Win, 300 Weatherby, 300 RUM and 8mm Rem Mag.; all depicting similar results that had been previously obtained, so there were no suprises there. I was amazed that the 28" tube measured such outstanding velocity, yeah, the 25 fps per added inch of barrel and all ..... any similar experiences? Cheers, Number 10 | ||
