Trying to find out what cal this rifle came in as I just had one given to me and the person did not the caliber of the rifle .

jim what you have isn't a single shot, its a WWII springfield 30:06 caliber. If its in decent condition it's every collectible for military collectors. At the moment if it's in very good to excellent shape its probably worth around $500
