I just bought a heavy barrel Encore for Varminting. Now I need to scope it. I am still trying to figure out which scope to buy for lowlight and no light hunting but just as important I still need to choose the rings to use.
I got the TC alum base from VVCG that I ordered when I ordered the rest of it. But now I need to decide on the rings to use. I would like to stay with alum rings to keep the rifle as light as possable.
I have been using the "el cheapo" split Kwik Site rings. You can see pics of them on a few of my handguns at the links below. They are aluminum, light in weight but i have YET to have a single scope move! Check em out!

Thanks Jeff, thats what David was reccomending as well. I forget, are those alum or steel? I would like the lightest weight rings I can get that still offer good strength.
I like the burris signature rings. They will hold the scope solidly, and not leave a ring around your scope. They are very forgiving if the alignment is off a bit.
