Just a little tip for you guys who shoot paper patch. Yes, I know the standard of cotton paper
and bill paper for patching bullets.
I have found bakers parchment to be the best for
patching solid lead bullets.
I found this many years ago when competeing with the "Virgina Bufflar Runners Assoc".
An 1874 Sharps .45 2/10th I had.
I won the 500 yrd off hand. My bullet was a cast 420gr semi spit. bare, with a bakers parchment patch. it was fantastic.
Bakers parchment, if wetted will roll so nice
upon a bullet, and conform better than any linen
paper. Once it dries, you can snip off the tail.
A tip from the old fart.

I buy it from a bakery supply shop.
Also, once the patch is dry, it will shrink
somewhat to form a very tight fit. It is also
very tough.
