Hello,
Have no idea what problem you may be having, but the Ruger system for mounts is generally very strong and reliable. If using Ruger rings, which I assume you are, only issue I could think of is that the small "tab" which inserts into the rib/rail needs to be squarely placed prior to tightening. At times the tab does not seat easily, but needs to be lined up and base of rings sit squarely on the rib/base.
One of the best scope/ring/base systems out there for a production rifle. If you could be more specific as to the problem, sure someone here could advise.

Ruger rings worked fine on my Ruger No. 1H and 77 RSM. As previously noted by MFD, the tabs or lugs are directional. Ring spacing to fit certain scopes is often an issue on No, 1's.

Here is how I install a scope using Ruger rings. Open the locking screws wide and move the bases around until they seat square against the base. Finger tighten the locking screws onto the base. Lay the scope in the bottom have of the rings and adjust eye relief and reticle alignment. Put the top half of the rings on and cross tighten the screws in a uniform pattern checking reticle alignment as you tighten. If the ring spacing does not work for your scope, you will need to investigate extension rings. There may be some scopes that just will not work on a No. 1 with the available rings and extensions.

I hope this helps.

here is the problem i had a zeiss 3x9x38 scope on top but changed it to a swarovski 6x18x50 AV scope so ihad to change the original mounts.with doing this i can not zero the rifle because at even 25 yards it will not go over to left enough by about 6 inch very frustrating.
