Doesn't seem to be a great deal of info on the Ruger site, unless I missed it. Any good spot to look for specs such as bbl twist? Specifically looking for info for .308. Could be an alternative to getting a Rem 700 VS LH. sundog

I believe the twist rate on Ruger #1s for the .308 bore diameter is 1 in 10". That's what my two #1B and .one .300 Win. Mag. have. I don't have a Ruger #1 in .308 Win. yet, and from what I understand, they're about as numerous as chicken lips. As a matter of fact, I have seen only one #1 in .308 Win,. a #1AB, and the guy wanted an arm, leg and both my bvalls for the gun. I passed.
AFAIK, all 30 caliber Rugers have a 1 in 10" twist.

Thanks, Paul. I have this really great looking recipe for chicken lip casserole,... but I've never been able to use it. Back the Rem with a 12 twist. sundog

When you find the rifle/caliber combo you want, click on the picture, then click on "Detailed specifications".

BTW, 1:10" twist is correct for the #1 in .308.

When the No. 1 first came out, they made it in .308 Win., and just could not get ANY ACCURACY at all out of the .308 chambered rifles. That's why they never made many in .308. Is the .308 caliber back in the No. 1 line now? If so, I wonder what they did to them to get them to shoot!!
