I was at the local gun shop the other day a seen a new-in-box Rossi .223 with 4 power scope and hard plastic gun case on sale for $160.00. I have always heard bad things about these cheap-o rifles and would never own one much less buy one. But I just couldn't help myself, I bought it. At first I though I had just pissed-off 160 bucks. Within 10 minute at the the range and after a scope swap to a 3X9 I had laying around, I'm very pleased with it. The little rifle shot 1.5" 5 shot groups at 100 yards with 52 gr match hollowpoint reloads. This rifle maybe ugly as home made soap but I don't have to worry about dinging it up or putting scratchs on it and with a 18" barrel it is easy to swing around when on the the 4 wheeler varmite hunting. The best 160 buck I spent in a long time, check them out. Its like kissing a ugly girl, not bad, just don't let anybody see ya do it.

I think the main problem with the Rossi has been the material they use to build them. I've heard the wear out fairly quickly. However, you only paid $160 for it, so you won't be out much if it does go south quickly. Glad to hear it worked out for you.
