I just got a #1V in 6mm PPC and want to buy some bullets to load. I know these rifles have a 1 in 12" twist and a barrel length of 24". What bullet weight shoots best in this rifle and what is the heaviest bullet weight that will stabilize in this rifle/twist rate? What are some load recipes that work in your #1V's. Thanks.

Try the 65 gr Berger match with AA-2015 powder or IMR-8208. Experiment with different primers -I use Rem 7 1/2 . Use brass with the neck sized to .002 smaller than the bullet. Depending on the throat you might have to jump the bullets a lot . A Sako 6 PPC USA shot well jumping .101 to the lands. Hi JohnnyB, I have a # 1-V in 6 PPC and have gotten some very good groups using the info on the Ruger # 1 Group. The record group with a # 1 for the 6 PPC at 100 yds. is .325 set in 2008. This is the average of two 5 shot groups =10 shots, on Ruger # 1 regulation targets. I'll list the components that were used to set the record : Norma Brass, Federal GM-205-M Primers, Vihta Vuori N-133 Powder, Berger 68 Gr. Match Bullets. There's more Info on the Ruger Group about the annual Ruger Shoot and also pictures of the record groups that have been fired. You can check it out at : www.groups.yahoo.com/group/RUGER-1 Ruger # 1 Guy
