I'm looking at a falling block No.12 BSA in .22lr It's missing the rear sight. It's a very nice little rifle but where would one find replacement rear sight? Is it worth $450? Thanks

If the stocks and metal are in nice shape, I'd pay that price. You can indeed find sights, although not inexpensive. I have one of these myself, and it is scary accurate. Check the Martini heading on Rimfirecentral.com. Lots of BSA fans there, including some Brits who have access to such things and might be able to help.

Another source for the sight may be MT Guns in Santa Barbara, California. They used to have most og the parts for the 12/15. They are a very accurate and fun to shoot little target rifle. One morning I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got into my pajamas I'll never know. - Groucho Marx

Loud, did MT move from Lake Tahoe? Mr. Wallace: That is one bad-ass collection of Martinis sir! There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author

Hi Bill, Mac moved the business to Santa Barbara about four years ago, and sold it to one of the guys who worked with him a few months ago. Here is the website address, http://www.mtguns.com. Two more questions for you guys. Just forward of the action on the bottom of the front stock are two off set holes. What was this done for or function? Also where do the scope bases best mount on these rifles? Thanks

loibib, The holes in the bottom of the stock in front of the action were typically left from removing sling bases. As to scope mounting, the bases are usually placed on the barrel. One morning I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got into my pajamas I'll never know. - Groucho Marx

Used an gent who liked working with/on Martini rifles to rebarrel a Martini Cadet for me. He preferred installing what I recall was a Remington 740 scope mount on the barrel.

I just happen to have a 12/15 with Parker-Hale sights. I'm looking for a trade, not sale. I figure it's worth $450-$500 and would trade for a .22 cal handgun like a S&W M17. Or, what have you to offer? (No photo here. I'm a Luddite. Have some, though.)
