So I just bought an old single shot. I've always wanted a nice break action and can't stand the look of the Encore and my funding has never been enough that I could afford a custom. I found this old German stalking rifle and I fell in love. I was wondering if anyone here has seen one like it and might know who made it? To clarify the pics it's an underlever, double triggers, flip up rear sight, 27.5" octagon bbl, tang safety. It's in 9.3x72.

Also, with a few modifications this rifle will be a dream come true for me. Here's what I want to do with it. (Keep in mind it's been refinished so the collector value is pretty much gone.) I want to put a latch on the forend and make it a take down. If you saw Ian (VA)'s thread about his BRNO and saw what he did with the forend, that's exactly what I want to do. I was also thinking of better sights, maybe express but I don't know. Also thingking a shell holder in the butt stock. Maybe. Anyways, what do you guys think?

I can't wait 'til it gets here!

Don't wait too long.

Big Grin

9.3x72R, 38-55 ballistics.

While you're anticipating it's arrival - organize Dies, Brass & some cast bullets.

Sounds perfect for Florida Deer & Piggies; I'd go hunting with it straight-away, just as it is.

Have fun!

I can't wait... To get out! Florida sucks. But anyways, hunting season is closed here. Small game is still open so hogs are an option but since I only have access to public land that doesn't allow centerfire rifles except in general gun season this one will have to wait until next season. That will give me time to have all the work I want done completed. It will get shot alot in the mean time though!
