Hello,
I am selling Encore bbl's on ebay and one guy emailed me back and said that the 10" .44 rem mag bbl is floppy back and forth in the frame. Has anyone had this problem? When the bbl left, there was no "flop" whatsoever. Does he have a worn out pin, or what could be causing this problem? It either has to be that or he just decided he don't want it anymore. A friend told me that he could actually be trying to put it in a contender frame. But i didn't think encore bbl's would even mount on a contender frame???? looking forward to your responces, thanks in advance. Bkmastr

It's common for Encores to have a little side to side play that can be cured with an oversized hinge pin. It is also possible that either/both the hole (s) in the frame/barrel have been worn oversize.

If excess wear is the problem, the holes in the barrel and frame could be reamed out to a slightly larger size but then the barrel would only fit that particular frame.

the guy who bought the bbl said he has two other bbl's that fit tight in his frame. and i know that the .44 i sold him was tight in my frame when i sold it. I think he just bought it before he actually thought about if he wanted it or not.
