Hi all,

Ive recently discovered the Luxus single shot rifle, and it looks great!

I'd like to hear from anybody that has one of these rifles...pros, any cons to speak of, and pictures are always welcome!

If you go to www.gunsinternational.com, put "Luxus" in the search box. Both Trop's and Hendershot's carry them now. I was at Trop's yesterday, and Dave has some really pretty Model 11s...one in 275 Rigby that I'm thinking very hard on.

I ordered one of the first ones..I'm having some photo issues right now on my computer--(my hosting site) so pictures are soon to come.

First I want to say, that Adam, Clay, and Tony are friends of mine. It is such a fresh breath of air to see guys making a business out of things that we all on this site love.

Now on to the model 11. I love mine, the wood is stunning. Mine has a nice stick, not outlandish but very pretty--just the way I like it. The form and function of the gun is very good. The bluing excellent, and nice little touches like the blue nitered (sp) bolt heads. Mine is a 6mm BR. I think Adam and Clay will kill me for saying that--as I think it was a one off, but it is a shooter. THe triggers have come a long way from the first ones. The first ones were a little stiff and heavy, but mine breaks clean at about 4lbs. I'm a tall guy so if you are tall and ordering a Model 11 see if they can do you a 26in barrel as it looks right if you are over 6'3 and have a 15+ in length of pull. All in all I think the value is great. I wish in time that the guys would sell the quarter rib as an aftermarket, so you could have a barrel made, aftermarket and add the quarter rib to it. I would also like to see a heavier barrel contour/ with forarm in time as the one now is wonderfuly trim and light--but some of us like a heavy barrel. The best part about the gun is its American made by real people you can still talk to. I have know the guys quite a few years buying wood and art, and can tell you first hand it is a pleasure to do business with real folks. In a day and age where almost all gun manufatures are owned by bean counters and are making throw away crap like the Ruger "American" (Ruger what a great company that is going the way of the bean counters) and Remington 770. Where else can you pick your wood, and caliber, and call the manufacutre and talk to the people who run the business. All in all I think that this makes it a great rifle. $3,000 is alot of money for a rifle, but I have recieved alot less for alot more money in other places. I just cannot wait to see what is up their sleeve next. Keep the good stuff coming guys!

Thanks for the info! Yeah I was chatting to Adam via email about a No 11 and he seemed a really nice guy to deal with and was only to happy to answer any questions I had. That goes a long way these days!

Can anyone tell me what the lever on the right side of the action is for...and where's the safety, how does it operate?

Post those pics when you can gents, would be nice to see some from the owners.

The lever on the right side is to cock the action, and the trigger guard has a extension on the back..depress it and the gun breaks open.. think of it a a good looking Encore (sorry if I make it sould like a T/C--as it is alot more elgant than that) The safety is you hold the cocking lever and depress the trigger--just like you would an exposed hammer gun--just the same--as it is an exposed hammer gun! You can see the hammer but it is bobbed and hidden--the side lever handels that chore. The sidelever kind of gives it that Farky look.

As Ed knows, I had the privilege of taking the first game animal (an Axis deer) with the Model 11. My review of the rifle is in the current issue of American Rifleman.

I am a big fan of the rifle: photos can't do the handling qualities justice. The rifle is...gracefully petite. Of course the wood is stunning but that's to be expected when the guys making the gun are importing most of the Turkish in the US.

Ed and I first handled the rifles in the parking lot of a Tex Mex place outside of San Antonio and we were blown away. WAY later that night I shot the rifle for the first time to confirm the zero in the headlights. 2 shots went into a single hole at 100 yards so I knew we had a shooter.

I'm embarrassed to say that I blew the shot on the axis the next morning but we found blood and finished what we started. I redeemed myself on a blackbuck later that day.

I'm a big fan of the rifle, and a big fan of a US company taking a risk during a recession to bring a unique sporting rifle to market. I didn't know Adam prior to that trip but now I consider him a friend.

The most recent issue of the American Rifleman shows mine. They did change the bbl and shot a different caliber-270 Win.
Mine is in .243 Win. A wonderfully light and beautifully made rifle. I am very proud to own it.

I would also 2nd what Ed said about Clay and Adam. They are terrific to work with and its really nice to see an American company making such nice rifles.

I handled a couple of Luxus rifles in Tulsa last weekend and am quite impressed. I am pretty deep in Blaser K95's right now, but I am fairly confident that owning a Luxus is in my future.

Those stock blanks are amazing! A Luxus in .303 British would be awesome!

Very nice with the casecolored action. That's what I'd get. I agree, a 303 British would do it as well.

The wood on these guns are jaw droppers...and I agree the colour case just sets it off to the next level! I really like the open sights too, seems to balance the looks of the rifle.

I discussed open sights with Adam, and he said they could do a 2 blade leaf type rear sight.

Here is my Model 11 223. Single digit serial number. It is a great handling rifle. I look forward to adding a barrel or two or maybe another complete rifle.

How do you find the trigger on your Luxus? And what sort of accuracy are you getting out of it?

I have ordered 4 of these last year because of the special engraving by the Gary Griffiths and other cool things I have just recieved the second one. I have 2 more to go.
I tried taking pictures but my camera will not do the gun justice.
Maybe get some later to post.
These are making great gifts to some of my heavy duty clients.

My Model 11 shoots slightly sub MOA with factory loads and the trigger is like breaking glass at two pounds. It's the best trigger I have on a hunting rifle.

Yes the model 11 has a great trigger for a sear system
If you want to try the best of all triggers on a bolt rifle you need to shoot a Blaser R-93 or the r-8
Nothing absolutely nothing has a better trigger

New bottom lever for the Model 11 Custom.

That looks really good Adam. The trigger opening is very "Farquharson". That's a great upgrade to a fine rifle.

It is a rather unusual looking single shot. Kind of a combination of Sharps and Ruger. Though it's a change barrel.

I am a very big fan of single shots, I own a K95 and a few #1 Rugers. My dream though is a Heeren.
