Hey guys, not really sure where to put this, but I figured this forum would be a good start! I got a TC Encore .50 cal. muzzleloader a few years ago (about 2? I think), and I was wondering if I could get rifle barrels to fit on the same reciever. I'm assuming I can, but I'm not sure, so here I am! Thanks for any help you can give me.

I heal fast and don't scar.

Justin,

You can get encore barrels from all the popular shooting supply houses..Midway, Natchez, Cabela's.

There are also TC speciality stores....just do a google serach on Encore barrels and take your pick. There are a few custom shops as well...Match Grade Machine, Bulberry, Bellem...

Good luck..the hardest part will be deciding what caliber you want!

Cheers

That's the beauty of the TC system. Even if you're not a huge fan of the Encore as a hunting rifle, you can still use it as an inexpensive way to try out and play with different calibers in which you might have an interest. If you don't fall in love with a chambering, big deal, you don't have a ton of money invested in a gun. If you do, then you can take your time looking for the perfect gun in that chambering.

It's especially useful if you live in highly gun-paranoid countries like mine (Canada). Buying just a barrel allows you to avoid all of the attendant paperwork/licensing/ownership hassles of buying a whole gun.

And barrels don't take up nearly as much room in a gun safe as whole guns do.

I have barrels in 25-06, .338 Win Mag and .405 Win. They are all great shooters. I just returned from South Africa and used my .338 with a 28" barrel on the larger plains game. You know you get maximum velocity from your cartridge with the longer barrel, but the overall length of your rifle is about the same as a 24" bolt gun.

This is a big advantage that does not get discussed as often as it should. Along with this, an Encore with a standard 22" barrel is a very short, handy package that is wonderfully light to carry and is especially useful in tight quarters.
