I read that the barrels for the K95 must be fit to the action. Can someone tell me just what that involves and is it necessary and if so can any competent gunsmith do it? Howard Moses Lake, Washington USA hwhomes@outlook.com

"Usually" the K95 barrels fit into the action as they are. I bought 2 additonal barrels used, a friend of mine has also bought 2, neither of them required any fitting. The quality of their machining and manufacturing is very high. I know however from another acquaintance that he sent his K95 and the new barrel to Blaser for fitting, if I remember well rather because of "just in case" than being necessary. Their over&under combination B95 is different being more complex, here, some adjustment on the forened might be required.

My K95 definately needed it's 5.6x50R barrel fitting. It was supplied unfitted by the factory (by mistake) and didn't fit in that the lump would not fit in the action.

My 243 barrel needed fitting, the 222 barrel worked. Rifle was a 30-06 to start.

Could you tell me what you look for to ensure a proper fit? Howard Moses Lake, Washington USA hwhomes@outlook.com

Howard, from what I was told a while back by the factory Blaser guy at the time... On any of the break open Blaser guns, if the new barrel[s] fit into the reciever, and can be closed without a problem, then you are good to go. I have 2 D 99's. I recently bought a new set of bbls. It fits one of my D 99's no problem. The other D 99 is a little too tight in the area where the barrel hook fits into the reciever. DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY

The 243 barrel locked shut but wouldn't open. Had to send it to Blaser to have them fit it. They didn't charge for it but sent it back fitted. I would kill to find a D99 at a reasonable price. Full retail in America is $10,000 for the double rifle drilling, and $8500 for a new single caliber drilling.
