Picked up my new Ruger No.1 9.3x74r today. I didn't realize they had 22" slim profile barrels. Really feels nice. Can't wait to see how it shoots but no ammo so had to order some cases and bullets. I'll try it with the Ruger pad but it will probably end up with a Pachmayr. The handling is superb. It feels and looks so good it's a shame to put a scope on it. With my Merkel 8x57r double I'm now set. Might even try to make it back to Zim one more time.

Congratulations! If you don't mind, what did you give for it? I am seriously considering one. Lou

this is a cartridge that should only be sold in a 26" barrel length. I am thinking a "spare" HiWall I have in the shop would be a natural for this.

Congrats on a great caliber, in a great SS rifle!!

zimbabwe

Research some of my earlier posts. I have shot a lot of game with a 9,3x74R.

It is a great calibre and a great choice for a Ruger No1.

No2,
I've read all your posts with great interest. This will be my 4th 9.3x74r. Had 2 Valmets and a Chapuis and was happy with all of them.Only used one of the Valmets in Africa. Would like to take this one and my 8x57 Merkel sxs for at least one more hunt.

I handeld one today.
I wanted to buy it but it was already sold damn'it. I like it just the wat it is, although the pad could be thicker.
I like the tropical configuration of the #1 and went to gun shops and hawkers all over portland and vancouver today and could not find one I wanted.
...tj3006 Buy the way this one sold for 759.00
