I just bought a sporterized military Borchardt. I would like to rebarrel it in a caliber besides 45/70. I would like an elk-capable cartridge with 9.3, .375 or .410 Bullets, as I have rifles using those Bullets already. I'm considering 9.3X74R, .375 flanged, 40-70, 405 Win. I'm not sure about bullet diameter on the .405. Would anyone like to comment on these and other calibers? Quick, Cheap, or Good: Pick Two

The 9.3x74R is a good one. I have a Ruger No.1 in that caliber. A fine Sharps-Borchardt rifle in 7.62x54R would be very unique and perform well on big game. Good luck with your project. Post pictures when it is finished. DR #2276, P-100 2021

I already have a No 1 in 9.3 and one in 450/400. I'm going with .405 Win and shoot nothing but Hornady 300 grainers. Quick, Cheap, or Good: Pick Two
