What is everyone's favorite scope for a #1 used mainly for target plinking and hunting (less than 300yds)??? I have a small selection of scopes already but can't decide which looks best and will work the best. Give me your opinions. I have offset rings so I can get the scope back enought that I don't have to crawl the stock.

I like the B&L 4200 Series scopes, I have them on my rifles. I used to use leupolds, but the clarity and the brightness through the B&L's is better through my eyes. The turrents are repeteable through there adjustments and I have had no problems with any of them.
The one that I have on my 22-250, is a 6x24x40, and I can see the .22 cal bullet holes at 300yds.

If you are keeping your shots <300 yards, I really like the Leupold 1.5-5x. Especially if the No.1 is of the A, S, or RSI version. If you have a B or V variant, then a scope with a larger objective lens looks fine, but for the Alex Henry or Mannlicher stocked rifles, those 1.5-5's look perfect and are fine for 300 yard shots on coyotes, deer, sheep, targets, etc...
That's just my preference...

DHB: Both my 24 caliber Ruger #1-B's (one in 243 Winchester and one in 6mm Remington) have Leupold 6.5X20 variables on them. I like lots of scope power on my Rifles and they also look very nice (size appropriate) on top the handsome Rifles. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy PS: I have 3 other Ruger #1-B's and they also have Leupold 6.5X20's or Leupold 6X18 scopes on them.
