I found some cartridge buttstock traps on clearance a Midway and ordered a couple. Got one installed on the Stevens 22 last night. I love it. Wish I had one for every single shot I own. I called Midway again today to buy the remaining inventory to do just that. They're out of them. T.D. cartridge trap

TD, at one time I thought you were a pretty pleasant fellow - now, I am starting to have doubts. You should have pointed this out to us prior to the folks being sold out. Just plain old mean.

Nice one. Easy to get that kind of stuff in europe, a little pricey tough. Check out: http://www.blaser.de/english/produkte/upgrades/schaftmag.htm In Norway I think they cost from about 200 to 700 USD. I guess my pockets will do for a while longer... Tron

TD, I read your post from about a month ago on the Cartridge Traps, I keep looking but haven't seen any response from you, or anyone else, on this subject. I have made several attemps to build one from scratch. but have not been sucessful enough to drill and cut a stock yet. Keep us informed, should you run across another supplier. Many thanks, Respectfully, Russ

Russ, I've looked and looked. Can't find any more. The ones I got are "Miles Gilbert Cartridge Trap Kit". I got them from Midway for $16.50 each. If I can ever find them for under $20 each again, I'll buy enough to do me! I inletted the stock on the Stevens with a Roto-Zip tool. Took a lot of time, but worked well. If I get more, I'm going to use the router to inlet. Should be faster and every bit as precise. T.D.

I have a cartridge trap incorperated into the buttplate on a custom 7x57AI. It will hold three additional cartridges. I think the buttplate was ordered from Brownells.
