I have a 99 Savage Hi-power take-down with the original barrel and stock,now I don't want to wreck the original rifle but I'd like to get more use out of it. I was thinking along the lines of setting up extra barrels and fore-ends for it in " similar " cartridges.
My thoughts are a 219 zipper imp. and a 6.5 zipper imp. and possibly a standard 30.30 Win.
Has anyone done any work on one of these rifles ? would these be possible with a slight mod to the magazine follower to feed all 4 different cartridges ? would the action be strong enough ?
