I have...sort of.
I sent a Ruger #3 (same action as the #1) to eabco for that re-barrel package almost EIGHT months ago. I was told it would take 5 or 6 months and I'm beginning to get pissed.
I recall some post's about a year ago praising the rusults of the work so sent them my #3 in May of 04. I sure would like to give you some feedback on eabco and I will if I ever get my rifle back!

I bought a #3 in 7-08 that had been rebarrelled by previous owner. Octagonal barrel easily 1" or so across flats. First 5 shot group at 100 yards was under 1/2". Where do you go from there?

I sent my 300 Wby to Pac Nor for a new barrel. They said it would take 12 weeks, and that's exactly what it took.

LeoCal,

I sent my 06 in last week for a Stainless Super Match. I had them do there "chamber, lap, true" that they advertized. From them it's going to "fit4duty".

Are you satisfied with what they did ? Have you shot it yet, & if so, are you happy with it ?

I had a friend/customer that had it done and was upset about the change of scope mounting from the standard Ruger to the Weaver style. He didn`t read the fine print I guess. It`s pretty obvious in the ad/pictures so it was his fault! Took him a few months to get his original base/rib back and then he had me re-contour the barrel at the breech end and re-install his original rib and re-blue. Rifle shoots good though. His[too] took longer than quoted.

Yes, they did a fine job. It had a Hicks on it from the original (bad) barrel, but it works best free floating.

El, you'r one of the lucky ones. Mine wouln't group for shit. Gave it to J Kobe for free floating and viola wonderful groups.

I suggest that you urethane the barrel chamber to prevent moistur from warping the forend.

done a few. lattest was to fit a pacnor 204 barrel onto an old 06. not a hard job at all and almost always worthwhile. such things like the above you just put in the 222 casehead extractor and away you go. Jim Kobe has a few posts under gunsmithing and he did a couple for me too.
