Is it possible to rechamber a 338 WM Contender barrel to 338 Lapua?

Maybe an Encore or some other single shot but there is no 338 Win Mag Contender barrel.

Why 338 Lapua anyway?
Have you ever fired a .338 Win Mag?

I should have been more specific, it is an Encore not a Contender. Yes I have used a couple of 338 WM's and like the caliber but was wondering if the Encore conversion is possible since they do make a 338 WM, I wondered if it would be a straight rechamber job?

No! Don't do it. The Encore will take a .416 Rigby, but the Lapua generates way too much pressure. Don't use the big case Weatherby rounds for the same reason.
